Dakota (Cherokee)

This is a fast jazz swing jam track in Bb major at 260 BPM based on the chord structure of “Cherokee” originally written by Ray Noble. This play along backing track is in a jazz trio setting featuring Benjamin Harrison (benharrison.com.au) on piano and double bass, and Ben Todd (bentodd.com.au) on drums.

Some other jazz standards and compositions that use a similar chord progression/sequence to this jam track are ‘Ko-Ko’ by Charlie Parker and ‘Apache Dance’ by George Coleman.
